Chef Danny Lee is a celebrated culinary voice in Washington, D.C., known for honoring tradition while pushing Korean food into bold, new territory. He first made waves with Mandu, the first full-service Korean restaurant in D.C., which he opened with his mother in 2006. After co-founding The Fried Rice Collective, he launched CHIKO, blending Chinese and Korean flavors with a modern twist. In 2019, he opened Anju, a contemporary Korean restaurant that was named #1 on Washingtonian’s “100 Very Best Restaurants” list in 2020.
